Jaque is a collection of mystery books, which brings together books by different authors in a single collection to encourage young readers to enter and learn about the world of mystery literature.

For this identity project, 3 books by different authors (John Katzenbach, Agatha Christie, Michael White) were chosen for the collection. In such a way, that the 3 books could be unified and complemented, towards the introduction and knowledge of what would be the mystery literature.
In the stories in each book, the plot becomes very insightful, leaving each character to make decisions that may or may not put her life at risk. It was decided to take chess as an inspiration and name the collection Jaque, since it is a chess move in which the king or queen of one of the players is threatened by an opponent's piece.
For the identity design of the collection, the recurring figures of each story were taken as reference. The cover of each book was represented with a chess piece that alluded to history. In the same way for the implementation in the creation of bookmarks.
The triad of primary colors was used and neutral, modern and sans serif typefaces were used so that they could be adapted and unified to the book collection, which united 3 different stories and authors.
