homeshred: Ode to Midwest

This is homeshred. An homage, content series and ode to those still here and ones done moved along.

The ones who'd get their start and those who've never left. We know that despite the haters, action sports in the Midwest is a flavor all its own, and we love it. It wouldn't be here without us and no matter where shred takes us, we're thankful.

Homeshred shows the moments that only people like us, might embrace. Sure, mountains might be something to move for, but until then we're here, and it's home.
Forty-minute drives to mediocre most would call it, but when viewed alone as part of the journey to feel a feeling we can't live without...well, after so many, you come to appreciate it.

A quintessential required pre- or post-shred Ameristop snack attack to top of the tank in more ways than one, punctuates a pastel Indiana sky (rarely seen amidst a sea of grey backdrops but nevertheless, appreciated).
That first lift ride. The final moments to mayhem, and a reminder of the imperfect perfection of the early-season grassy minefield made to work for those who'll allow it. Ice. Grass. Slush, and everything in between.

This is homeshred advantage.
The Lift Line. An uncanny part of Midwest shred that becomes a venture in people-watching all its own. From boomboxes played aloud to those maybe a bit loose upstairs, the crowd in shared-waiting shares ample time together in anticipation of that next 30-second thrill.
That (in)famous view. A reminder of that choice we have in each moment. One way or the other, the experience of the journey becomes a reflection of how we choose to define it.

Most see visions of Colorado only to be had, but learn to look clearly, and you'll see a beauty only Indiana.
Hot laps is what we call it.

Creaky rope tows crank up the volume of runs only a Mini-Park can handle. It's no secret some of the best rail riders in the world are born-and-bred from icy / slushy parks in the Midwest & East Coast regions. Progression comes quick as trick-after-trick gets dialed.

Just remember, if you fall, it's all good, but don't stay posted too long.
There's no feeling like looking around you. Your best friends, shredding. Self-expressing. An instance of pleasure & pain captured in a moment. One look at Cody's face reminds us of the joy of learning.

Humbled, thankful to be here, together.
To homies now & forever. Near, far, and those yet to be found. The bonds we share are forged everlasting in this sacred form of self-expression. Give thanks, for Eternal Shred. This, is homeshred.
