Bassetlaw District Council

Bassetlaw District Council Visual Identity
During lockdown I've been following more closely council services. During this I found my local District Council; Bassetlaw, had a dated, cluttered and uninspiring identity. During a time in which communications for authority organisations needs to be recognised and respected, I took it upon myself to create a concept new visual Identity for Bassetlaw District Council.
Bassetlaw District Council is a district council in north of Nottinghamshire, covering a district serving around 116,000 residents and 1000s of Businesses. The council provides services to urban towns, medium sized villages and isolated settlements.

The new visual identity adapts the distinctive tri-flag graphic used in the current logo, making it bolder and updated the colours. A new bold and clear wordmark works in harmony to create a fresh but recognisable logo.

Complimenting the new logo is a scheme of new green colours which work side by side to create bold collateral when paired with the warm illustrations. Creating approachable designs adaptable for all audiences and mediums. The updated tri-flag logo is also used to create a unique pattern for Bassetlaw, creating a modern and distinctive look on almost endless applications.
