This is the first piece in my series of editorial illustrations for thesis. I chose this article, it reviews Jay Z’s latest album and describes how his fans have been reduced to customers.
I wanted to depict Jay Z as an old school door-to-door salesman selling his music to not fans, but customers. I plan to redue this piece with a more fantastical theme to go along with my thesis proposal but I thought I’d post this to show yall what Ive been working on.
Inside the house are different references to Jay’s career and personal life. There are 7 total and some are more obvious than others. Can you spot all 7?
