Nostalgia for a past future, OFFF Paris 2010.
“Nostalgia for a past future”, graphic campaign made for OFFF festival Paris 2010. It invites us to remember the already lived. To evoke the past and take a breath. The risk was to remain still in the presence of this past. We needed to go a step forward, and make the past our own, take over this memories and turned them into the present.
Our inspiration comes from a variety of references, from Da Vinci, the Industrial Revolution, even through the avant-garde, and most particularly with The Surrealism. The creation of a series of absurd machines, or not…. which main finality is to create emotions.
We were looking to arouse the human senses using this primitive technology, by evoking the past as a time capsule, honoring all of those dreamers who believed in a different world, and that in a very direct way, connects with the spirit that the festival promotes: experimentation and a constant search.
As a result, a series of pictures, very well cared, to promote this metaphor. A graphic expressed almost in a poetic way. The sketches of this machines as a result are half of this inventions.
