住んでいる寮の居民は短期滞在な学生だけではなく、１０年で居住する歴がある社会人もいる。
寮の部屋がとても狭く、部分の部屋が窓さえない。たとえ日中の時も部屋も暗いである。
そのところに住んでいる私がそこに生活することの大事なものは「希望」だと思う。
それで、「希望」という抽象的な物を具現化する目指し、
この「ソト」というウォールライトは開けた時に映された排気ファンの影で室外の感じを喚起するようにデザインした。
回っているブレードに注目しているうちに、空気感という錯覚を体験の以外、外の物事を想起するのを導く。
美しい関連ではないと思う。
窓などようなライトは今の形より美しかもしれないが、本当の外のシーンを作られないので、
実は体からの共鳴を喚起するのは困難。
そして、暗闇の部屋で回ってるファンブレードの影を見てぼんやりしているうちに、
見ない外を思わずに自分で想像することは、こういう行為は「希望」ではないであろうか。

This wall light "Soto" is designed to evoke the feeling of outside with the shadow of the exhaust fan when it is opened.
While paying attention to the spinning blades, you will experience the illusion of airiness, which leads you to think of things outside.

三步不到就能走完的房间，有人甚至在那里住了十年，有的房间甚至没有窗户，即使外面艳阳高照，这里仍是一片漆黑。
“希望”是一个美好的词，但“希望”究竟是什么？对这样房间里的人们来说，或许，是外面。
这不是美的关联。甚至有些奇怪。
或许一扇窗户之类的意向，比排风扇更加有鼓舞人的作用。但我不想让看向窗外的人，见不到风景。《外面》是一件关于壁灯的设计，看着旋转的排风扇叶的影子，在幻想着真的能有一丝空气进入的同时，想起一些外面的事物，这样，便是“希望”吧。
这不美
但我们能否允许生活本身，也不美呢？
