Flaam Festival 2019
Visual identity for a boutique music festival with a unique approach and atmosphere.
Background:
Flaam is a boutique (mostly) music festival taking place in Nitra, Slovakia. Founded in 2014 by a group of best friends, curious art fans and avid festival goers, it’s been slowly growing to be one of the most interesting and unique festivals in the country. While following in the footsteps of its bigger and older airfield-based festival siblings in incorporating all kinds of art into its DNA, Flaam presents itself as a unique festival beast of its own due to its intimate atmosphere, playful approach and a courage to present fresh and audacious art.

Design:
Every year we start our first meeting with the Flaam festival team with a question – what can we do differently than everyone else? In 2019 we stretched this idea into the whole identity. Looking at line-ups of all the huge festivals with their vaguely edited photos of each artist, we came up with an idea to create completely new, custom visuals for our artists that resulted into a series of 22 avatars, each representing the individual artist’s name, mood or vibe while retaining a single style. The avatars were implemented across all the visual applications such as the website, merchandise or tickets.
