Pendolari

Pendolari is a selection of analogue portraits taken before and during the pandemic in Milan. The title originates from the Italian term "pendolare", which indicates not only a commuter, but the cyclical nature of certain moods.

The format, the colors and the font used are a reference to Milan's public transportation network and its typical orange trams with dark green shutters. The idea was to give the perception of a very intimate and quiet journey to an unknown destination, where the only thing that matters are the stories behind the people travelling with you, and what they may see from the large windows.

All portraits were taken by Ferruccio Giacalone, a photographer based in Milan and currently studying at the CFP Bauer. A Minolta X-700 and an Olympus OM10 were used. Films range from a Fuji C200, Kodak Gold 400 and some Kodak ColorPlus 200.
