Mark Hirschhorn's profile

NPCF Partners with Lifestyle Entrepreneur and Activist

A Larchmont, New York-based executive, Mark Hirschhorn serves as the president, COO, and CFO of Talkspace. Beyond his work-related pursuits, Mark Hirschhorn supports the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF).

NPCF works to eliminate childhood cancer through its collaborative research initiative the Sunshine Project. In a move designed to further its efforts in raising awareness and money for pediatric cancer research, the nonprofit appointed former supermodel and world-renowned lifestyle entrepreneur Kathy Ireland as its international youth chair.

While NPCF has contributed more than $23 million to pediatric cancer research, increased funding is of critical importance. Billions of dollars are spent annually on cancer research, but only 4 percent is allocated for treating childhood cancer. Ms. Ireland will engage communities worldwide to support this important cause and help NPCF implement various fundraising initiatives.

Considered a prominent women’s health advocate, Ms. Ireland has opened several neonatal intensive care units in the United States in addition to treatment facilities in Honduras and Haiti. She has also launched a mentoring program for young single mothers and contributed to disaster relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina.
