How should I dispose of my used phone?
The Mintit mini is an unmanned trading system product that is specialized to fit the needs of the contact-free age brought by the COVID-19. The cumbersome and difficult P2P(person-to-person) process of trading used phones is solved through simple and easy solutions.
Once the phone has been received, the AI not only checks the phone’s status and its price value but also the selling and donating process on the spot. This guides customers to take their old phones out to the used phone market. The project gained popularity through its clear and easy donation process that helped young and vulnerable audiences lacking ICT support. The phones will be reused or recycled for the resources. Mintit mini not only helps the environment through recycling and preserving resources, but also contributes to a social impact. Different from the robust designs of traditional kiosks, the new friendly design of Mintit mini resembles service robots that are easy to approach. This will provide a new experience tailored to the users in the pandemic era.
To apply the brand identity, the mascot character Minti from Mintit was used as a standby display screen.
Pressing the “sell” button, the display would automatically open up and show the scanner.
The AI scanner that evaluates the used phone is hidden behind the display making the design elements minimalistic.
However, the dynamic movements demonstrate the image of smart tech.
There is a tray and a safety lock feature while transferring data from the phone.
Also, the UV-C light disinfects the phone and protects people from the virus.
The display’s frame is made through bending metal plates with a refined anodizing finish.
The subtle grey tone with the soft feel finish and rounded surface adds a delicate touch.
