We chose Franklin Gothic for its ‘Straight Forward’ & ‘In Your Face’ personality, a versatile font with a large font family that can been used in different mediums & objectives.

The reasoning behind each design poster are as follows. Our target audience are designers who are looking for fonts which are timeless.

Design 1
Objective: To show case the straight forward nature of the font, we placed its name right at the bottom of the poster in the largest font size. Utilizing a 2-column grid, we separated the main info from the sample typography by placing it on the right column where it will be read first.

Design 2
Objective: To show case the timeless nature of the font by showing its utility in the brands it is used. We utilized Starbucks as it is a widely recognized company across the world that uses Franklin Gothic as its main brand font. The design was inspired by Starbucks’ takeaway paper bags, with the Main Logo shifted to the top left & its name replaced by the font name. The familiar green is reiterated with the Font Name on the furthest right column to replicate the paper bag design.

Design 3
Objective: The unique ‘G’,’K’ & ‘Q’ characters were angled & repeated to show case the modern style of Franklin Gothic. The characters are further made the main hierarchy by a red outline while directing the reader’s attention down to the main info which is also framed by the red line at the bottom left of the design.
