Daily Renders: Motion
“For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.”
― Aristotle

As preparation for my Insomniac Olympics project, I used AbstracPack and the standard renderer in Cinema 4D to explore basic principles of lighting and composition. Giving myself room for slow iteration and skill building in a new software, I created 3-5 images a week for three weeks.

For me, daily renders are a very intentional learning process. After learning about Keith Simonton's equal-odds rule—the idea that creativity thrives on quantity—I pushed myself to start from scratch each time I sat down in front of my software instead of nitpicking and refining singular projects. It was daunting to start with a blank file, but in the end, it helped me learn how to push through creative blocks and combine basic elements in novel ways.

The following are my favorite renders from a 3-week long process of exploring!
