Physical Computing and Hanukkah Edition!
I love creating toys and making crafts that cross disciplines. Part of my thesis project, Critter Cards, was to integrate technology and the physical world to create something that is interactive and accessible for all.

Here is a sample of various 3D projects, including costuming, toys, and interactive sculpture.
First is a prototype for a toy that's meant to be a step beyond the traditional "toys to life" of Skylanders or amiibo. I love collecting physical toys and I love customizing my characters in games, so I wanted to see if I could make a toy that took on some of that in-game customization and linked the collectible toy with the digital product.
Various stages of development of the blinking Blorb, from sketches to prototyping to finalized prototype.
A video of the color changing Blorb in action! Ideally this would sync up with a mobile game and this physical toy would emulate the color of your digital pet. Depending on the game's design, users might also be able to affect their virtual critter with real-world influence, like the color matching shown here.
I love playing with new and different technologies--Augmented Reality being my favorite. Here is a short video of an assignment to use a face-tracking plugin. I created this in a small Processing sketch with the faceOSC plugin.
Having moved to the UK, I left most of my personal belongings behind in a storage unit in the United States. Because of this, and because Judaica is not as readily available as it is in the US (plus, a global pandemic that makes shopping in-person impossible), I decided to make my own Hanukiah this year to celebrate Hanukkah! Made out of random crafts I had in the house (a small wooden display, washi tape, pencil holders, and more).
