Toronto Winter Stations Pavilion / Cosimo Scotucci
Winter Stations is a single-stage international design competition held annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Participants are tasked with designing temporary winter art installations which incorporate existing lifeguard towers spaced strategically across the city's Kew and Woodbine beaches.
The Glowing Core aims to create awareness on the environment through its intrinsic characteristics.
Inside, virtually submerging the space with the image of the nearby sea thanks to a camera obscura process, addressing the issue of sea water rising, while outside projecting different colored lights throughout the day according to the sun path.
