“Of Mice and Man” which is written by John Steinbeck, tells the tragic events that George Milton and Lennie Small experienced while they were working on farms to achieve their dreams. Both George and Lennie share the dream of owning a land where they could have a farmhouse. The farmhouse that is placed on the top of the design, represents the dream of achieving a farmhouse that is present throughout the book. The reader gets closer and closer to this dream as reading the book but fails to do so in the end. The last page of the book is interactive and as the reader turns the last page, the image of the farmhouse vanishes, therefore the effect that the book has on the reader is enhanced through this experience.

This design won the “Student Project Achievement Award” in the 39th Graphic Design Exhibition which is organized by the Turkish Graphic Designers Association (GMK).

Fareler ve İnsanlar - John Steinbeck

John Steinbeck'in yazdığı Fareler ve İnsanlar kitabı George Milton ve Lennie Small'un hayallerine ulaşmak için çalıştıkları çiftliklerde yaşadıkları trajik olayları anlatır. George ve Lennie'nin kendilerine ait bir parça toprak edinip orada bir çiftlik evine sahip olmaya dair ortak bir hayalleri vardır.  Kitabı tasarlarken üst kısımda bulunan çiftlik evi, kitap içerisinde ulaşılmaya çalışılan çiftlik evi hayalin temsil etmektedir. Okuyucu kitabı okudukça bu hayale daha da yaklaşır ama kitabın sonunda bu hayale ulaşamaz. Kitabın son sayfası interaktif olup sayfanın çevrilmesiyle ev görseli ortadan kaybolur. Böylelikle kitabın okuyucu üzerindeki etkisi deneyim ile arttırılmış olur.

Grafik Tasarımcılar Meslek Kuruluşu (GMK) tarafından düzenlenen 39. Grafik Tasarım Sergisinde Öğrenci Projesi Başarı Ödülüne layık görülmüştür.
