T-shirt Design / Bacteria Cartoon

I created this design for iGEM Toronto, a student-led synthetic biology team. This year, their project is to use the enzyme secreted by bacteria I. sakaiensis to break down plastics.

Since this is a t-shirt design, I chose white as the background which was approved by most people on the team. I decided to keep the element minimum and chose the bacteria as the mascot, so it is relevant to the team members who would wear the shirt.

Instead of representing the bacteria's color realistically, I decided to make a cartoon version of it. I chose the yellow from iGEM Toronto's logo, but with a different tone. To add playfulness to the mascot's facial expression, the two eyes don't align, and one of them breaks out from the outline.
