ExplodeMi is a portable lamp inspired by the paper lanterns of the Japanese city of Giffu, but taking this concept even further. This is achieved by transmitting the lightness when it is turned off and when we contract it to turn it on, it shows an apparently heavy volume of light without losing the weightless sensation when it is held by hand.
This lamp is formed by an inner body composed by slightly arched flexible rods, allowing it to have a slender and sharp shape when it is off, but when we press it down to turn it on, it adopts a bulkier shape that manages to spread more light, reminding us of the Japanese lanterns.
