Fuel for winners
I redesigned the complete product line from the ground up. Tornado Fuel is since over 30 years well known for its eyecatching 'red can'. I absolutely wanted to keep this brand asset, so I focussed on the key visual elements; the lightning and the colours.
I harmonized the lightning elements throughout the 3 cans and upgraded them to give them more power and create a contemporary look-and-feel.
It was pretty clear the logotype needed an update. The corporate font was originally designed by Herb Lubalin and Tony DeSpigna in 1972. The logotype was completely remastered by Characters Font Foundry to reflect the new modern look. Characters Font Foundry juvinated the font by removing the serifs, harmonizing the details to make it balanced and opening it up. Read the case description on the website, or check out the project as featured on Behance.
I descided to print the colours directly on the aluminium cans. The result is a fantastic metallic looking packaging line.
