The cultural center has to reflect the syrian heritage and the damascene type and culture and  here it comes the concept of the D grid which inspired from the ancient syrian trappings and inscriptions that made the centeral point and systematically surrounded by straight elements.
The D Concept was inspired by the Damascene Rose, which is the perfect example to define Damascus, that comes as a complement for the D concept, it has the centralism and the ordinalism with the leaves that surrounding the center.
 
This Grid had been based on the oriental ornaments by the old city on the west side of the project.

A public place was required in order to connect between the exist building and the out-door auditorum as a zone which relate people with each others. 

The entrance was designed with entire plat forms in different tones of color to polarize people from the outside and smothly to the inside to discover the place and to find out what it does content .

SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT ANALYSIS
 
This Cultural Centre is a low energy building using local materials, skills and resources. Energy loads are reduced passively by shaping the building to keep the sun out.
It's Sustainable based on those surfaces that are flexible and sensitive from the sun light.
They close when its hot to keep the sun out, and save the power and they open when its cool to keep the temperature moderated inside.
SUSTAINABLE BY WIND MOVEMENT
"INTO THE BUILDING"


by the wind movement “as its displayed” ,it will be a moderated temperature building.  
That makes wind ways in and over the body of the building.
