The poem was written in 1910 and included in the lyric collection The Magic Lantern. The poem shows a decent christian approach to the New Year's ceremony, where no festive hype and loud music. Instead of it the atmosphere is mystery, with a cozy lamp and thoughts of the eternal. I concluded to make an illustrations for each verse and you could find it below.
