A concept design for ‘Outside, Inside’ by Michael Penny and ‘On Balance’ by Sinéad Morrissey.

Brief: To give a new contemporary look to two works of either fiction or non-fiction that have already been published. The two books must link some-way stylistically as a series but also individually.

Poetry is intimate, so for typography I chose to use my handwriting instead of a typeface. This makes it more personal and creates this hand made materiality. In an age of technology we seek connections and human-touch more than ever, thus our attraction to hand made materiality.
