65 Years of the Faculty of Applied Arts

Marking the 65th anniversary of the Faculty of Applied Arts, this project was done during
my studies at the Faculty. It won the competition for the anniversary logo in 2013. The Faculty of
Applied Arts in Belgrade was founded in 1948 and it was originally called the Academy of
Applied Arts. The Faculty logo, which is at the same time the logo of the entire University of Arts,
was designed in 1966 by Miloš Ćirić, a long-time professor of Graphic Communications.

The aim of the 2013 competition was the creation of a logo that would be based on the old
symbol; being upgraded, it would be given a new life and meaning. These guidelines led me to
confirm the story about the years, attitude, ease and enthusiasm that passed through the
Faculty throughout its history.
