Introduction - through modelling the proposal, demonstrate how a monolithic layer  able to connect with the tectonic structure, unify this contrast through using the two main materials on clay and sticks & planes. Open up space and bring in light, Natural light is terrific for a healthy complexion.

Hypothesis - can tectonic structure support, connect and create space with a geometric opening of a method of monolithic structure ?

case study 1 - Monolithic structure - geometric opening - clay
case study 2 - tectonic structure - 5 points of architecture- sticks and planes.

Materials:
- clay
- sticks
- playing cards
- blocks (optional, used to create void in clay and create the size of the clay)
- bluetack
- 1:50 scale people

Method:
1. place your clay on a flat surface, flatten your clay.

2. use your rectangular blocks to create a square around your clay, so everything is is at a appropriate size,  create 2 walls.

3. cut up the extra bits and sides of clay, tidy it up by using your craft tool or scissors. (whatever you prefer).

4. get more clay create the same as you did for step 2 with an increase of 10 mm on each side , this time while you create your square of blocks to place the clay in it you will create void in the middle of the clay piece by placing another block standing up in the middle and then place your clay in it while you work around the space of block around and the standing block in the middle.

5. move your blocks away from the square clay you created and gently take out the middle standing block carefully so it doesn't ruin. Finally don't forget to tidy the extra bits with what you prefer the craft knife or scissors.

assembling work together:

1. place your playing cards at the base of your model to create a floor.

2. get your two walls and place them by opposite sides on the base playing cards. make sure to place on the edges and that they are perpendicular. if you feel like the cards aren't as thick it is optional for you to use cardboard or even a cork board.

3. if you want to show your clay as specific material like concrete just your knife too put squiggly lines to show material of walls.

3. grab your last clay material that you made, the one you created the void and place as the roof. Make sure it is well supported.

4. lastly, get your sticks and place around as your columns to help support incase your roof isn't well supported. (sticks must be the size of your walls and you will need a few sticks not much).
