The goal was to develop an innovative HMI approach wich decreases distraction while cycling in order to increase safety. FORWARD is a smart cycling helmet which displays trip information directly into the riders field of view through Augmented Reality technology. Features like bone conducting headphones and a digital rear mirror provide an even safer and more convenient cycling experience. The hardware was designed based on insights about the heads anatomy and injury characteristics for best possible head protection.
