For this project, I used fortune cookies as a source material in order to create a systematic alphabet series.  Inspired by  “Chinese-stylized” fonts, I was able to achieve a similar look by using the fortune cookies due to its similar nature of curved, clean lines. For most letterforms, I was able to take advantage of the natural bends and curves of the cookie, sometimes grouping two together. Other times, I manipulated the form of the fortune cookies by breaking it apart or using the fortune paper to create parts of a letter. Systematically, it is the curvilinear design in each letter that makes this twenty-six-letter alphabet cohesive.  Photographing each letter individual, I was able to create a vector alphabet in illustrator, sometimes simplifying the silhouette of the fortune cookie in order to achieve a look of what most people identify with as being the illustration of a fortune cookie.
