Part of the problem with my art is that I tend to focus on the subject matter and nothing else. If I'm drawing an apple, the apple is all I'll look at. To combat this 'tunnel vision', I've started working on a series of Tarot Cards.

Why Tarot Cards:

1) They are incredibly ornate and artistic which has long since drawn me to them.

2) Elements from the backgrounds inform the meanings of the cards, giving me more of a framework within which to illustrate a background.

3) There are a number of references to work with, helping in balancing out the overall look of the cards.

I am doing a selection of cards from the Major Arcana.
