leMook is a magazine for students. It holds a very special place in my heart as it is the magazine that got me interested about print design in the first place. On their 10th anniversary issue, I was given the opportunity to design layout for their speical issue. And here are some sample pages from my design.
Since the topic of the issue is " Weekendism" . I've decided to use bold, pastel color blocks to convey a sense of playfulness.
The major difficulty when creating the layout is its bilingual content. The articles often have Chinese and English besides one another. It is not always easy to match the shape and forms of two completely different writing system - Chinese and English - to look coherent. But with trial and error, I think I'm closer to finding an ideal match.
