Campari & Punt e Mes
During my Erasmus at Ãcole des beaux-arts de Marseille I had the chance to work in a screen printing laboratory. I was immediatly captured by the colors and wanted to experiment with this technique.Â
My idea was to bring back the advertisements that used this technique before the advent of digital. In particular, I was struck by the posters of Italian alcoholic beverages made during the twentieth century.Â
I have chosen as subjects Punt e Mes and Campari, two leaders of the beverage industry in Italy and around the world.Â
I created a game between the two-dimensionality of screen printing and the manual and imprecise stroke of the hand, between the mass production and the imperfection of chance.Â
The works came out to be fun and fresh, in appearance one different from the other, but with a line of continuity. The prints play a lot on the overlapping of colors and traits and thus become, in addition to alcohol advertisements, works that pay homage to the history of the brand and the typographic study of the logo, which has made history in all Italian homes.
Durante il mio Erasmus all' Ãcole des beaux-arts de Marseille ho avuto la possibilità di lavorare in un laboratorio di serigrafia. Sono stata subito catturata dai colori e ho voluto sperimentare questa tecnica.
La mia idea era quella di riportare in vita le pubblicità che utilizzavano questa tecnica prima dell'avvento del digitale. In particolare, mi hanno colpito le locandine delle bevande alcoliche italiane realizzate durante il XX secolo.Â
Ho scelto come soggetti Punt e Mes e Campari, due leader dell'ambiente delle bevande in Italia e nel resto del mondo.
Ho creato un gioco tra la bidimensionalità della stampa serigrafica e il tratto manuale e impreciso della mano, tra la produzione in serie e l'imperfezione del caso. âââââââ
Sono riusciti dei lavori divertenti e freschi, uno diverso dall'altro all'apparenza ma con una linea di continuità .Â
Le stampe giocano molto sulla sovrapposizioni di colori e tratti e diventano quindi, oltre che delle pubblicità di alcolici, delle opere che omaggiano la storia del brand e lo studio tipografico del logo, che ha fatto la storia in tutte le case degli italiani.
