Mission Statement:
The intent of the Polaroid Project is to provide a development of single-family housing units created for single-child families, with a strong focus on versatility, functionality, affordability and an overall higher standard of healthier living.
Concept Statement:
Derived from Portland’s very own polaroid sub culture, the Polaroid Project looks to the sleek design of the sx-70 Polaroid Collapsible Camera for inspiration as to how each of the aforementioned standards can be met. An examination of the model resulted in three precidents which directed the course of this design, specifically, convertability/space-saving capabilities, modularity and the ability to capture and hold light.
