Fake News PSA Campaign
Project Brief
For this project, I created a theoretical PSA campaign for Ad Council. I wanted to pick a topic that isn't always thought of and I thought about how fake news seems to infect our daily lives whether we realize it or not. Therefore, I wanted to create something that encouraged people to avoid fake news and shared tips about how to avoid it. I decided to use a phrase we hear quite a bit now, 'stop the spread', as my campaign slogan to encourage people to think about ways they could stop engaging with and taking in fake news as it is in many ways a virus. Each poster is a different cleaning product, or technique to use to fight off fake news. I used bright colors and a flat illustration style because I wanted something that would be interesting and entertaining to look at.
Fact Checker Spray
Learning to fact check is a great way to avoid fake news. It is up to you to ensure that what your news is telling you is fact not opinion. It takes a critical eye, but with Fact Checker Spray anyone can do it!
Statistic Scrubbing Wipes
Analyzing stats is a good way to understand if they are being spun a certain way. It is a good idea to investigate the nature of stats in your news. With the help of Statistic Scrubbing Wipes you can do just that!
Media Sanitizer
Sometimes, we gotta clean up the news sources we are taking in. Stepping back and evaluating the quality and biases of your news sources is a great way to understand if you are being told facts or how to feel about facts. When you use Media Sanitizer, you will kill off news sources that are looking to tell you how you feel.
