FUNERAL HALL

Desirable connection between inner and outer space is followed in the project. The cemetery is associated with a park, so we added the presence of nature to the building and placed a few trees in the ceremonial hall. It should create a bit of mythical feeling, thanks to the light that penetrates through the slits in the roof into the white room where we do the last honors. Moreover that park is adaptable to different cultures and religions and we emphasize the multinational nature of the existing cemetery.
Transformation possibility
The main room of Ceremonial Hall has a round shape to be able to choose one of four cardinal directions for funeral procession according to all religion rules. It is also easy to divide it into 4 parts. Around the hall is a passage formed by an outer shell. The inside of which is black to emphasize the contrast with the white cylinder, which accentuate the transition from one world to another.
We chose pink sandstone as the main external material, as it is often found in the architecture of the tombs on this cemetery and is the identification of the location of the complex. The interior is as neutral and transformative as possible. The vestibules are completely transparent  and when we open the door from the hall, we immediately feel the space outside.
The shape of the ceremonial hall building was also influenced by the existing trees, we approach them only by the cantilever part, but not by the foundation, because we want to preserve the adult plantations.
Reconstructed area: 404,60 sq.m.
New construction: 271,66 sq.m
Area of the complex: 676,26 sq.m.
