This year I was able to create an experimental film that took me a whole semester to do, it is now finished and feel super proud of it. With the help of amazing mentorship, support from my friends and family this experimental film helped me get closure from a big period of my life and find myself again with the help of art.

Losing your identity can be a long process over a period of months or years, but can also happen suddenly following a major life event or trauma. We may lose some identity, even in the most healthy of relationships, as we accommodate, adjust our behaviors, and support our partners, and there may be some change in our level of independence, as a small level of co-dependency may set in. With the help of my ex partner on creating a blank canvas for a new start, and three talented women I was able to reconnect with my past and use art for self-discovery.
