For this junior year project at University of Missouri–St. Louis, I was asked to create an animated icon set for the topic of my choice. I had recently watched Peaky Blinders before doing this project and thought a speakeasy icon set was fitting; there are quite a few similarities between 1920 and 2020! Research included 1920's lingo, colors used in interior design and clothing, and cocktail recipes, of course! To connect this more to 2020, I brightened and saturated the colors. To emulate the glitz and glamour of the roaring 20’s, I created smooth animations focused on the cocktails and drink ware, as well as accompanying items that are associated with speakeasies and the roaring 20’s. All animations were done in Adobe After Effects.
