The Overlook Hotel
The topic of the project was film "Shining" by Kubric.
The project suggests an alternative view on Architecture:
the idea was to create some strange, frightening space,
where the events of the film could take place.
So, in fact the "Overlook Hotel" project offers something between Scenography and Architecture.
Space is being considered as an alive organism, moving and shining with it's own energy.

So, in fact the "Overlook Hotel" project offers something between Scenography and Architecture.
Space is being considered as an alive organism, moving and shining with it's own energy.
The strange shape of the building was buit to remind both a space-ship and
a fanciful mushroom that grows on a top of a hill.

It's soaring above the valley, it's looking for some new victims.
The visible part of ouside stucture of the building is mostly static and
inside breathing.
The ground floor is a huge golden hall, 80 meters tall, with flower-shaped columns
of 4 types:
- the Breathing Columns,
- the Dancng Columns,
- the Colums-elevators with matte red glass inside,
- the lighting Colums
The height of the Golden Hall is almost physically pressing you into the ornamental floor
and makes your eyes rise to see the moving corridors above you
and moving lights coming and hiding themselves between arches...
A feeling that blows your mind away.
On the upper levels there are breathing corridors connected the guest rooms with
the restrooms, libraries and restarants,
of 4 types:
- the Breathing Columns,
- the Dancng Columns,
- the Colums-elevators with matte red glass inside,
- the lighting Colums
The height of the Golden Hall is almost physically pressing you into the ornamental floor
and makes your eyes rise to see the moving corridors above you
and moving lights coming and hiding themselves between arches...

Also there is a main restarant and the big kitchen on a ground floor in the restarant complex,
connected with the main building.
And of course you can find a theatre on the back side on the main bulding, that's taking it's place right on the edge of a hill, and has a system of special cuirtains, tha t can be opened to have a play with a view of the real mountains on the back.

are organazing a "breathing corridor" hanging in the top of Golden Hall.
Moving walls are giving away an unconfortable feeling of neverending transformation.
