The children's hospital foundation was opening a new gift shop in our province's first children's hospital and I was tasked with creating the brand. I knew I wanted it to be light, fresh and modern.
With the name Sprout in a children's hospital, there was plenty of potential for creating a brand that symbolized growth, flourishing and health.
Because the brand was for a gift shop, I started by creating a logo that was in a little box, similar to a gift. As the concepts evolved, I turned back to the concept of the circle-of-care. The circle-of-care represents the patients, families, doctors, nurses and caregivers of those is hospital and it just felt right to add the sun mark within the circle.
The brand has a fresh vibe with the sense of growth and warmth. It is clean, modern and welcoming.
