ARTS 222 Prompt:

"You are to create a poster and coordinating social media for an event of your choice.

The goal of the poster is to walk you through the design process and solidify the design principles.

- 11x17 vertical poster.

- 3, 3x3 square social media posts.

- Use of images which may include expressive type.

- The social media posts should have a tie in from the poster, repetition.

- A clear sense of hierarchy should be evident with a clear focal point."

I chose to use Adobe Illustrator to design the poster and social media posts. I created two cattle outlines; a primary one that was used twice and a secondary one. I consistently used the same type and color of text throughout the poster and social media posts. Only four colors were used (red, black, grey, and white) which created a very simple overall project. The poster contained four pieces of information (the name of the event, the date of the event, the location of the event, and a website for more information). Each social media post included one piece of information, along with the name of the event in the caption in order to still provide useful information. The name of the event along with the primary cow outline was the focal point of the project.
