Fusion powerplant. (2020)
Fusion powerplant is a blended space with combination of industry and entertainment. Based on a logic of receiving and giving, two incompatible concept making new connection in operation of food waste to energy and promoting active lifestyle of skateboarding.
Façade showing the building design is a huge skate ramp at different levels, connecting each other to maximize the spaces. The two skate path are accessible in and out of the building, providing different experience for the skaters.
Main entrance features a reception. Skaters are requested to rent safety equipment such as knee protection, helmet and so on, before starting their skate journey in the building. Where visitors will be guided on a tour by the operational staff.
Educational talks on food waste and food wastage management system (Anaerobic digestion) will be held in the multipurpose area where gatherings will take place for large amount of visitors and skaters.
Converged point is where the skaters gather once they shin down from the rooftop skating area. Lockers on the side allow them to keep or collect their belongings, as well as a return area for the safety equipment.
Elevation
Rooftop is an open flexible space with skate surface such as vertical ramp and mini ramp. There will be placing of moveable skate sculpture such as bench, spline, manual pad, etc. Walkway in tempered glass allow direct access to the café, where visitors can promenade, viewing both rooftop and first floor skating area.
The skate path as shown allows skaters to experience ‘snake run’ skating, to and fro from the rooftop to the ground floor.
