UMSL Animated Icons, Fall 2020
An animated icon set for SKY: Children of the Light by ThatGameCompany.
Featuring twelve unique items and creatures found in the fantastical world. Each icon is cel animated and utilizes organic lines and a limited color palette to unite the set. The fans and creators of SKY are wonderful and dedicated individuals. This is my way of appreciating the wonderful community we've created and lighting a candle for all the Sky kids who enjoy it too ~
PROCESS / Image-Making and Refinement
A new dive into iconography and cell animation.
I love to illustrate, but often get bogged down in the details. Especially when it comes to a digital format. This was also the first time I used cel animation for a project. Working through the icons was about finding consistency and harmony between the set. Specifically, seeing how each element from color, shape, and animation, had an impact on the whole.
