TIKVES, a Macedonian wine company held a Label Design Competition and I decided, why not try. I chose to go simple with the Macedonian style Helmet and Swords, with a Circle representing the Shield.
This is the front label.
And this, of course is the back label.
This is the file I submitted. The green background was added as the contest guidelines stated that the bottles are either green or colourless.
This was the first draft of the set to use 2 swords along with the Helm and Shield. The swords seemed to just float there and proved to have no attitude or emotion what so ever.
Crossing the swords, as cliched as it sounds, was my initial instinct and it looks like it stuck.
After a while I decided that the label was too cluttered and either the Shield or the Helm should go. After the above attempt the Helm was moved to the back label.
