Ito wind tower
In this assignment, I chose " ito wind tower " as my subject to study and analyse. Toyo Ito‘s Tower of Winds in YokohamaJapan which is league of technology bringing together nature and
architecture. This project not only embraces developed technology, it also shows a direct symbolic relationship between nature and the installation. It is sign of technological sculpture in the rail way station of Yokohama which attracts travelers to visit. The Tower is a combination of innovation and imagination which comes from designer of wind tower's idea. He thinks the importance of technology which makes contribution to future in architecture. It has established a relationship between nature and the incorporation of technology.
At night time, the tower starts showing beautiful colour which makes itself becoming alive. Accordingly powering 1300 lamps, 12 neon rings, and 30 flood lights are used by substantial electrcity. The small lamps change colors according the surrounding sounds and its neon rings ripple according to the winds of the city Brenda Nyawara 2016).
Firstly, I decided to create the struture of supporting column. I have analyzed the structure of wind tower with rectangle supporting column. It inspired me to design same structure in my project. I made hand draft to elaborate material and structure. This structure was built by three layers and eight colums. As my hand draft prototype portrayed,  I used wood broad and column to build this prototype that is stable.
Secondly,  I used structure of supporting column to make concept of my object. It had similar structure with wind tower which showed layers and center supporting column. In this object, I used more strong material to refine my supporting column. As image portrayed,  I used gliue to stick rectangle column together into bigger supporting column.
Thirdly, I used different material to improve structure of my object. I had found paper core is contant which is able to be supporting column. The different colourful wood broad with side of semicircle shape were used to stick together which surrounded paper core. The structure of my object became more and more clearly.
Finally, I drew the structure of my final project with notation. My object was constructed by one center supporting column, extra small supporting columns and stable basement which are built by four square wood broads. The strcucture had strong spine that can hang layers of translucent material from. In toyko wind tower, neon rings had successfully attached to structure of tower in flexible way. In my object, I had designed four horizontal supporting columns which ensurd to create gap between layer and neon ring with translucent material. Neon rings were able to attach on my object because of PVC plastic material ( translucent material ). The way of  layers interact with lights had followed techniques of wind tower in toyko. Translucent material made light from neon ring throughing object inside which gave visual impact.
