Mixed use building
The initial thoughts for the facade re-design at Kensington is
to establish a sense of order, rhythm and a hierarchy in mass
and material.
This is achieved by re-arranging the composition of the facade into
three distinct elements or ‘fingers’. These are expressed as solid
masses, with glass/metal panels at the roof terrace levels.
The three distinct fingers are divided by vertical elements forming the
base to the garden courtyard podium. Entrances are clearly expressed
and framed by the mass to either side that now interact at ground
level.
