Infographic - Covid 19

This assignment focussed on sharing precautions that an individual can follow during the covid 19 pandemic through an infographic. The objective was to design a poster that was simple enough to be understood even at a glance.
OVERVIEW
> Covid 19, is a global pandemic which can be slowed down only through caution and responsible actions of individuals. Although people are aware of the magnitude of spread, very few actually adhere to the guidelines.
> I started with reading through the most common and effective guidelines prescribed by government organisations to individuals, homes and organisations.
> The five most logical that every person himself could control were:
   1. Wearing a mask
   2. Washing hands
   3. Staying indoors unless travel was necessary.
   4. Disinfecting regularly used objects and surfaces.
   5. Social distancing.
For clarity and details, worked on making a mind map.
> Writing down these ideas helped me decide the design style and story for my poster.
> Collected a few existing designs, that had line art and minimalism.
> My moodboard is inclusive of line art illustrations and infographics, line art icons, minimal elements and colour theme that I have worked with.
DESIGN DRAFTS
> I chose to work with minimal, line art for the poster.
> The colour scheme is light and casual so the message is not threatening.
> Covid 19 used to be associated with fear initially, and I did not want that aspect to be seen in the poster. I have used very light background shapes of coronavirus with very low opacity as a relating factor to Covid 19.
>The details for every point are minimal keeping in mind the fact that people know these things and it is a reminder.
> I have paired fonts that look modern, minimal and pleasant to make the poster informative yet not preachy. These fonts also give the poster a neat look and yet keep it casual without making it look childish or silly. (Information people would trust)
> I have used an offset colour to add a pop to the icons. The colour blue brings an aspect of trust or confidence, hence the choice.
> The context in my design is the precaution icons and the low opacity coronavirus shape, while the focus is the detailed text.
> Have highlighted the main points in the body text with a bold text for easy understanding and quick reading.
1. Mask icon - Uses simple lines/ shapes to effectively bank on geometric abstraction.
2. Washing hands icon - To give a direct, precise message, stuck to using shapes of a hand-wash and a soap.
3. Stay indoors icon - To convey the message to stay indoors unless necessary, I have used the shape of a house without any other distractions of people etc.
4. Clean surfaces icon - Cleaning and disinfecting are directly associated with disinfectant bottles, hence the choice.
5. Social distancing icon - According to me, this is a very important precaution which facilitates fast spread of the disease. Here, I have used a line and the '6 feet' concept so it stays with the reader even before reading the details. The '6' in the icon is slightly darker for emphasis.

Here are a few sketches and layouts I had prepared.
Final Design
To understand if this would work, I shared the poster with a few people to get their feedback.
Here are a few mockups of the poster.
Reflective Analysis
 > Als a part of my final design, I tried a new style, line art. Something I had never tried before.
> Initially I had planned to work with flat design, but realised my designs when attempting flat design were not upto my expectations.
> With line art, I could understand geometric abstraction and shapes in detail.
> I could see how alignments and structure have an impact on the look and feel of the design.
>I learnt to use mood boards effectively while designing.
> I learnt about the concept of context and focus while designing an infographic.
