Body Festival is a group exhibition of three female artists, inspired by Yayoi Kusama's happening in the 60s, the three female artists intrepet the idea by peeling off the bone of contention surrounding three major organs of the human body: the head, the legs, and the waist.
Ruangrupa Gallery invited these three artist to collaborate with curator Ika Vantiani, better known with her underground zine distribution 'Peniti Pink' and her collage work.
Ruangrupa is an artists' initiative established in 2000 by a group of artists in Jakarta. Non-profit organization that strives to support the progress of art ideas within the urban context and the larger scope of the culture, by means of exhibitions, festivals, art labs, workshops, research, and journal publication.
