Few days back, i returned back to my hometown and a friend of mine arrived to meet me. We planned to go around some random places hoping to find some interesting places and things. we did hit the roads and travelled along the coasts to reach a place where the road ends but not the journey of an individual who have to feed his family. People of that place have to travel to the other side of the river on a boat to earn their livelihood. The government started construction of a bridge which, well stopped in middle of nowhere as the chief changed.
We enquired how things are around the place and, the people there are very happy to answer every single question we put forth in front of them. There were little jokes exchanged, we saw how they transported bikes on a boat literally holding them all the way from one bank to the other. We travelled with them on the very boat. And after we came back to the place where we started, we happened to have a chit chat with the boat driver. Right after few friendly enquiries comes the question, "what are you?” A question that has a much deeper meaning than what it looks like. I’ve been questioned this way all through my life and not once was there any use. Then why would people even ask? Why is it so important to classify people? I wasn’t even asked my name in the first place before i was asked this question.

After all the development I see happening around, this thing never
changed. It just transformed, moreover evolved into an essential evil.
I asked my friend “can’t we change people?” He replied “how many? “
I said “ everyone ! “ and then he says
“ you may not change everyone but sureyou can change some,
if only you start it in the first place “

well , he is right I should at least try before asking for the result, for it be far off .
And here I am trying to do
the very same. While some see pride in saying it out, some feel humiliated.
While some write it on everything they have, some hide it from everything they have.
While some gather around to celebrate,
some just live unnoticed. Was it so important to classify?
I mean you have the very same blood and bone!
Every single time I keep myself in the shoes of others to feel how it feels like
being them and every time I found one thing, it doesn’t make any difference.
They are just the same humans.

This new year I ask you to join my hands..I ask you to take a resolution which can effectively change what we can be.

Would you be a human and then a citizen of a country and nothing more?
Can you leave every single disparity that keeps you apart from billions living around you?
Can you, next time when you were questioned “what are you? “Say “I’m human and don’t have any “. I know we have to respect the community where we came from and I do but that should not create a wall within us, between what we call humanity.
And so I ask “will you be the change? “
Oh, if you still wonder what I said when I was asked THE QUESTION, I said “I don’t have any “. I am human and an Indian and that’s all you need to know.
