This labeling system, designed for use by the American Red Cross, is a more legible, inviting, and user friendly version of the current part-type, part-handwritten label. The bag is designed to highlight the most important information about the blood donation as well as increase immediate recognition of the blood type by the use of the color coding to denote A, AB, B and O blood types.
The colors are derived from the FDA's Guidelines for the Uniform Labeling of Blood and Blood Components.

A series of promotional call-to-action posters to simultaneously publicize the new blood donation bag labeling system and encourage people to donate blood. The series includes four posters, three of which feature the new labels as the backdrop for the three models from the first poster.
