Winter Skin Care Tips

Winters bring a feeling of excitement for everyone. When cold winds start blowing, people begin their preparations to welcome the breezy weather. Seasonal changes in weather can harm our skin in different ways which commonly includes rashes, marks of irritation and most importantly dry skin which is the root cause of so many other skin problems.
What causes skin problems in winters?
Temperature, humidity, and content of moisture in our skin are directly related to each other. When one drops so does the other. In winters, when the temperature goes down and humidity falls below 40%, the amount of moisture in our skin also goes down which results in skin rashes, irritated skin, itching, eczema, and allergies. The cold breeze of winters harms the outer layer of skin which results in dryness and inflammation. Sometimes the dryness is so intense that it ends with cracks on the skin.
Sunburns are another reason for winter rashes. The ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun are so strong and excessive exposure to it is harmful to the skin. Taking showers in hot water and using heaters also affects the skin and allows it to lose the natural oil of the skin.
