For this assignment, we had to create an infographic poster with a stand-out visual element - we were free to pick the subject and the format. Because I'm really into psychology, I decided to challenge myself a little and pick a complex, misunderstood subject : the Dissociative Identity Disorder (or D.I.D.), formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. As I'm sure a lot of people still do, I used to confuse it with schizophrenia and didn't take it too seriously, dismissed it as people hearing voices or plain attention seeking. I stumbled across a few creators on youtube that disproved all of that and I strongly recommend that you check them out too if you're interested and don't know much about the subject : this interview with people affected by DID, DissociaDID, Multiplicity & Me, Entropy System, and many others.

I completed this project during the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 solely over zoom - that was an interesting but also alienating journey. Discussing a mental health issue linked to dissociation during that period felt appropriate.

Because the subject is an "odd" one, I used a sort of unusual approach - for example, I'm not usually a fan of gradients, but I knew it would work with the ambiguousity and multiplicity of identities, like the same body seeing itself in different lights. I drew the mirror and portraits with a black ballpoint-pen and colored it on Photoshop with a tablet. The layout was made on Indesign, the format is A0.
I don't recommend this type of circular, ray-based grid to anyone : it's very difficult to align text on and it really doesn't facilitate reading.
My teacher thought it was the best solution and I eventually did too because I liked the idea of the eye following numbers in a circle from right to left, like a clock : starting from the past -  1 to 4 "o'clock" - the history, why and how it starts, to the future, 5 to 8, where we talk about treatment, how it gets better and ending the stigma around this disorder.
