Title Slide...  Not much more to say.
This picture is taken at the start of the first hole at Laura Bradley Park's Disc Golf course.  It was taken around 2:30 on 9/10/13.
I chose this picture because while waiting at the first hole, I wanted a good portrait that didn't include my friend just looking at the camera.  Then after a particularly good drive, I was able to catch a genuine (Not a fake "smile for the camera") smile.
When altering this image, I cropped it down to just my friend's face so that it felt more like a portrait.  Also, through the use of the spot healing brush tool, I was able to remove a blemish on his cheek and a few small marks on his forehead.  Finally I used a deep blue photo filter to soften some of the colors in the picture and give it a slightly calmer feel while retaining the energy of the smile
This is boviously taken at hole 3 of the Laura Bradley Park Disc Golf Course on 9/10/13 at around 2:40
I chose this picture for my example of definition and detail because the old tee markers for the course looked like excellent examples of a very detailed piece with all of their imperfections and marks from age
To exaggerate the detail in this picture, I cropped it much closer to the post to allow for a better view of the piece.  I also ever so slightly altered the RGB curves to allow for a slightly brighter, but not overly bright, view of the piece for better definition in the little details of the marker
This Picture was taken on hole 3 of the  Laura Bradley Park Disc Golf Course on 9/10/13 at around 2:40 as well
I chose it to for my action shot as it is a great shot of a disc hitting the chains in the basket.  It's a simple shot, but you can clearly see how fast the disc was moving from the impact it shows with the chains
After cropping the photo to allow a better focus on the disc and the basket, I used the smart sharpen tool to try to help some of the chains stick out a little more from the background.  I also added a 37% density light green photo filter to allow the blue of the disc to pop a little more and to soften the background.  This allows the eye to be drawn straight to the basket
This shot was taken on hole 17 of the Laura Bradley Park Disc Golf Course on 9/10/13 around 3:30pm.
I chose it as a landscape picture because while it's not a very zoomed out shot of the hole, it allows you to see almost all of it (Including the basket on the right side)

To edit this photo, I first cropped it down to a shorter and wider feeling shot to give it a more panoramic feel.  Then, I altered the gamma correction in the exposure by .68 to give the picture a much richer feel.  I also lightly blurred the basket to both allow it to blend a little better with the background and also gain a slight glow that can help distinguish it.
This picture was taken on hole 5 of the Laura Bradley Park Disc Golf Course on 9/10/13 at 2:45pm
I really liked this picture for the rule of thirds because you have something going on in each third to define it.
Richard on the left, the disc in the middle, and the basket on the right.
It just seemed like the best picture to work with

Obviously for this picture, I changed it to black and white before recoloring the disc and if you look close enough, the basket.  The disc was a no-brainer as it was a sharp contrast to the black and white and looks amazing.  The basket came as a later idea as, by putting it in color, i also had to put some of the foliage behind it in color too.  This actually was the determining factor for me as it allowed the basket to Pop from the background and help exaggerate the rule of thirds that was slightly reduced when I made the picture black and white.  It also gives a feeling of nothing matters in the moment before the throw, except for the disc and the basket.
This picture was snagged between the first and second holes of the Laura Bradley Park Disc Golf Course on 9/10/13 at around 2:30ish
I chose it for symmetry because, while it's not perfectly symmetrical, the idea is clear.  We have Richard in the middle with the beautiful plant life on either side.

First, I cropped a small piece of the left side of the image and the bottom of the image off to center the picture more on Richard and give it a more balanced feeling.  The original had more to the left of Richard than the right and this threw off the idea of symmetry.  After that, I actually did afew different things to alter the look and feel of this picture.
First, I altered the color balance of the picture reducing the red and greed and slightly raising the blue.  This gave it a slightly darker shade on the leaves and (to me) a more "alive" look to much of the plantlife.
Second, I boosted the vibrance and saturation to give the foliage a much richer color which was exaggerated by my final alteration, where i boosted the contrast fairly high.  This, to me, made the whole picture feel more alive and vibrant as all the colors are bright and energetic.
