First, I cropped a small piece of the left side of the image and the bottom of the image off to center the picture more on Richard and give it a more balanced feeling. The original had more to the left of Richard than the right and this threw off the idea of symmetry. After that, I actually did afew different things to alter the look and feel of this picture.
First, I altered the color balance of the picture reducing the red and greed and slightly raising the blue. This gave it a slightly darker shade on the leaves and (to me) a more "alive" look to much of the plantlife.
Second, I boosted the vibrance and saturation to give the foliage a much richer color which was exaggerated by my final alteration, where i boosted the contrast fairly high. This, to me, made the whole picture feel more alive and vibrant as all the colors are bright and energetic.
