Jake Hilligoss IM 113 Assignment 1

This is a portrait of my nephew Kaj (pronounced "Kai") taken at my appartment  before we went into town.  I found it to be interesting thta it is such a detailed shot, and so up close and personal.
The alterations i made to this picture include eliminating the background objects and color to increase focus on the subject, I turned down saturation all the way to eliminate color for the whole picture to match the background, and icnreased the light to enhance the subject.
This is from the car ride into town.  I like the way I framed the city in the background with the inside of the car as the foreground.  I also captured part of my dad in the rear-view mirror.
The alterations I made to this picture invovle cleaning up the image.  I cleaned off the dirty spots (bug splats?) on the windo, and deleted an unknown object on top of the left most buiilding because it looked like it didn't belong.  I also used the Auto feature on the Curves adjuster to fix coloring, brightness, and contrast.
This is from the first part of the day, getting supplies at the BU bookstore.  I found it interesting because it seems to show that shopping was the center point of the day, but it mostly involved around taking pictures of my nephew Kaj (who was more than happy to have his picture taken and to take some himself), which is why i chose this as a details picture.
The alterations I made in this picture are turning down the brightness while turning up the contrast, and I also cropped out the partial letter on the far right side of the screen because it didn't look good only being half the letter.
This picture was taken shortly before or after the detailed shot.  I found it interesting because I was able to capture motion without having to have my subjects face me.
For the alterations in this picture I used the Auto Tone feature to correct for lighting and I also cropped out the botto part of the picture, which included the front of my scooter in order to put more focus on to the subject.
This picture was taken in the bathroom of my appartment before my family and I went out. I chose this picture because it lines up well, with the bottom of the basket and the bottom of the metal rail liing up exactly with the gridlines.
For this picture I made a few minute alterations.  I used Auto Tone and Auto Color to fix lighting and coloring, and I also added my initials to the bottom left corner of the towel located above the toilet.
This picture was taken in downton Peoria when my family and I were in town.  I chose this picture because it showed symetry in the two center buildings, which are nearly identical.
I altered this picture quite a bit.  First, i cropped out the surrounding area to focus on the two building.  Then i took the tops off of the buildings to make them look more identical.  Finally I added a whole floor to the building on the left to make the buildings look more evenly tall.
